Denise Huska is a dynamic, results-oriented, and driven executive with CFO, Controller, Human Resource, and Operations Management experience. As a tenured financial and business executive with more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Huska specializes in financial, human resource, and operations management for transitional and emerging growth companies in an array of industries, including high-tech, staffing, retail, e-commerce, education, service, non-profit, interstate commerce, and real estate.
Having launched two entrepreneurial ventures of her own, her hands-on, team-building approach to financial management and internal infrastructure cultivates thriving change in management with prosperous financial rewards to the companies she serves. She also has proven expertise in strategic planning, negotiations, career development, and organizational coaching. Currently, Ms. Huska serves as Controller for CASTLE Worldwide Inc., a full-service international licensure, certification and testing company. Additionally, she consults with Paragon Application Systems Inc., an e-Payment software development firm providing simulation, configuration, and testing software. Both companies are undergoing significant growth, needing strategic planning and cash-flow management to successfully realize the organization's potential through its growth phases.
Ms. Huska earned her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a Certified Human Resource Generalist. She is also a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs and SHRM.
Professional Career Highlights:
- At VIStra Business Solutions, Ms. Huska led financial and operational management of $1 million to $50 million organizations through development and implementation of strategic Business Plans, projections, financed capital, operational policies and procedures, administrative controls, and staff resourcing.
- At VIStra Business Solutions, Ms. Huska led and supported client management by providing direct consultation and support on strategic insight to maneuver through new financial and organizational terrain. By identifying the inherent strengths within each client organization she worked with the management team to develop and implement refined business plans, financial projections, budgetary guidance, benchmarking plans, policies and procedures, strengthened internal controls and ultimately the alignment of human talent through hiring and training and development.
- From 1997-2000, Ms. Huska was the president and CFO for A Mother's Grace Inc. where she developed, positioned, and implemented the strategic business, sales, and marketing plans, obtained non-SBA initial financing, and executed operations from paper to reality.
- During her time at A Mother's Grace Inc., she successfully launched the company from start-up to immediate profitability, achieving an average 55% gross margin, 5% net income to sales, and 40% growth in average customer purchases per year
- From 1990 to 1997, Ms. Huska served as the Corporate Controller for Storr Office Environments Inc. of the Triangle, where she was later promoted to Director of Corporate Training and Development. At Storr, she was responsible for all financial, client service, internal operations, automation, and human resource aspects of the organization.
- During her tenure at Storr, the organization prospered under leadership that double sales volume in three years, and grew profitability by nearly 1000% through strategies of spin-offs, divisional sales and re-branding.
